Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the role of information systems in supporting the decision-making process in modern business organizations through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Information systems, including ERP, CRM, BI, and MIS, have proven to be strategic tools in improving operational efficiency, accelerating decision-making, and strengthening a company's competitive advantage. By analyzing 10 studies from different sectors and regions, the study found that information systems not only accelerate access to relevant and accurate information, but also enable cross-functional coordination and collaboration between decision-makers. The results of the study highlight the positive impact of information systems on productivity, customer satisfaction, and adaptability to market dynamics. However, the research also identified a number of challenges in its implementation, such as resistance to change, limitations in user training, and security and reliability issues of the system. Human factors, especially managerial readiness in utilizing information systems optimally, also determine the effectiveness of decision-making. These findings emphasize the importance of a holistic and digital literacy-based implementation strategy so that the benefits of information systems can be maximized. This research makes an important contribution as an empirical foundation in understanding the dynamics of the use of information systems to support smarter and data-driven business decisions.
