Abstract

This study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of trends and directions in Information Systems (IS) research over the past decade through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. By analyzing ten selected articles from leading scientific databases, this study identifies key themes in IS research, including digital transformation, the adoption of cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Blockchain. In addition, interdisciplinary approaches such as NeuroIS, eye-tracking, and gamification are beginning to play an important role in understanding user-system interactions. This research also highlights a methodological shift from theoretical frameworks to practical data-driven approaches, as well as the increasingly crucial challenges of cybersecurity and personal data protection. Using the PRISMA flow diagram, the study selection process was conducted systematically to ensure the validity of the literature synthesis. The results of the study show that, in addition to great opportunities in the exploration of digital technologies and strategies, there are still geographical gaps and diversity of topics that have not been optimally explored. This study recommends a more inclusive, collaborative, and adaptive approach to IS development in the future. These findings are expected to contribute significantly to strengthening theory, practice, and policy in the field of global information systems.
