Abstract

The aging process experienced by the elderly increases the risk of malnutrition due to decreased appetite, which can reduce protein consumption as a building block. Malnutrition is characterized by inadequate protein and/or energy intake, which negatively impacts human growth and development and, in the elderly, can lead to loss of body fat and muscle. Nutrition education activities are carried out through activities that include nutritional education related to the importance of protein intake for the elderly through booklets and focus group discussions to increase the elderly's knowledge of animal and plant protein sources that are easily found in everyday life. This nutritional education is expected to have a long-term impact on the daily protein intake of the elderly
