Abstract

A Community Service Activity (PKM) themed “Healthy and Smart Children in the Digital Age: Navigating the Positive and Negative Impacts of Smartphone Use” was held at SDN 04 Cikokol, Tangerang. This activity aimed to increase the knowledge and awareness of school-age children and parents regarding healthy, safe, and wise smartphone use in the digital age. The increasingly widespread use of smartphones among children has a positive impact as a learning medium, but it also has the potential to cause negative effects on physical, mental, and social health if not controlled.

This PKM was carried out through educational and participatory methods, including counseling, interactive discussions, and mentoring. The material presented covered the impact of smartphone use on children's health, screen time management, the implementation of a healthy lifestyle and balanced nutrition, and the educational and productive use of smartphones. This activity involved a team of lecturers from various disciplines, namely nursing, nutrition, and information technology.

The results of this activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of healthy smartphone use and the importance of the role of parents in guiding their children. This activity is expected to support the healthy and intelligent growth and development of children in the digital era
